About April
April Want is a passionate Fashion and Graphic Designer based in Gold Coast, Queensland. Currently entering her third year of a Bachelor of Design at Queensland University of Technology, she majors in fashion and minors in graphic design. April has been recognised for her academic excellence with the Dean’s Commendation for two consecutive years.
Her creative vision is deeply inspired by retrospective fashion and design movements, particularly from the 20th century. She seeks to reimagine and modernise antiquated ideals from these eras, blending subversive and contrasting styles to explore their relevance and commentary on society. Fascinated by the concept of "Opposite Ends," April's work often delves into the interplay of conflicting aesthetics and their broader societal implications.
